Who we are
Kodros publishes Mesh for Android. Tanner Osterkamp runs Kodros. In this policy, "Kodros", "we" and "us" mean Kodros. Questions go to tanner@kodros.ai.
Mesh is an independent app and is not affiliated with Nous Research.
What we collect
Nothing. Kodros runs no server that receives your chats, files or settings.
What goes to your gateway
- Chats and jobs. Your prompts, session and job requests, and approvals.
- Files you pick. Images and documents you attach. For a PDF, the app reads its text on the phone and sends the text. For a video, it sends one still frame and no audio.
Your gateway may pass this to the AI providers it is set up to use. Plain HTTP is allowed only for addresses on a local network or tailnet, with a warning, and that traffic is not encrypted.
What stays on your phone
- Gateways. Names, addresses, settings and recent run state, in the app's private storage.
- API keys. Encrypted with an Android Keystore key that cannot be exported.
- Profile. The name and email you add in Account. They are kept on this phone only.
- App lock. Your lock setting. Fingerprint or face checks are done by Android. The app learns only whether they matched.
Android backup is off for this app.
Voice input
The app does not request the microphone. Voice input uses the speech recognizer installed on your phone, and the app receives the text. That recognizer handles audio under its own policy.
Purchases
The current version has no in-app purchases.
Permissions
- Internet. To reach your gateway.
- Biometric. For the optional app lock.
Retention
We hold no data from the app, so we keep nothing. Your gateway keeps what you set it to keep.
Your choices and deletion
Removing a gateway deletes its local data. Sign out in Account clears local settings. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the phone. To delete chats held by your gateway, delete them there.
To ask what we hold about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it, email tanner@kodros.ai. We answer by email.
Children
Mesh is for adults who run their own AI assistant and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If Mesh for Android changes how it handles data, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so at the top of the page.
